Jennifer Nelson came to studiotrope with a strong background in sustainable strategies, real estate, design, and building science. She was an Energy Adviser on the Denver Energy Challenge and EnergySmart. Both U.S. Department of Energy Better Buildings Initiative grant programs aimed at increasing the efficiency of existing buildings 20% by 2020. Additionally, Jennifer was an adjunct instructor at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design teaching green design classes.
Jennifer has been a long time volunteer with USGBC Colorado, having served on several committees and received two volunteer awards. She is also a passionate supporter of the Living Building Challenge, citing Jason McLennan as one of her design heroes. Her design experience includes working on residential, hospitality, municipal, and corporate renovations and new construction.
Jennifer has a BFA in Interior Design with an emphasis in Green Design from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design and a Sustainability Leadership Certificate from Ithaca College.
