Located near the northeast edge of a growing campus the new Acoma Street parking garage has the opportunity to be a beacon, increasing awareness and expanding the interests of Denver residents to Denver Health. This portion of campus is currently void of the brand anchors that exist at the other edges and corners of campus.
This new addition to the campus must respect its location at the northeast fringe and imbue a revived presence and a safe & approachable facade. The architecture must also continue the historic dialogue of the existing campus buildings by showcasing strength, order and simplicity.
Knowing the primary function of this new garage is for staff parking, this building does not need to broadcast itself as a parking garage. Instead, the goal shall be to complement, not replicate the adjacent campus buildings via forms, surfaces, materials, color, texture, massing, and detail
